It's hard to believe that only one year ago the WARDJet team was installing the giant GCM waterjet at the headquarters of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) with Boeing in the United Kingdom. The goal of the AMRC is to provide engineering and machining research concerning the aerospace industry and WARDJet is proud to be a member of the prestigious organization.
Here's an excerpt from an interesting article published on the AMRC website. It describes the AMRC's involvement in the European Eneplan project to research environmentally friendly manufacturing methods and highlights the GCM waterjet.“We investigated alternative manufacturing processes to reduce energy and environmental impact while maintaining the same performance and quality measures. We found that with greener manufacturing processes such as abrasive waterjet, we could target material waste by nesting parts. We can get two components from the same block of material that only gave us one with traditional processes.”
